The Information of John Vaughan< no role > Esqr . and John Chambers< no role >
taken before me this 1st. day of February 1782

Who being upon Oath say, and first the said John Vaughan< no role >
says that on Saturday Evening the 12th.. of January last he was robbed
between Edmonton and Enfield at a place called Salmons Brook
of a silver Watch, one Guinea an half Guinea and a half Crown piece
[..] a single Highwayman who was mounted on a grey Mare
and further says that he doth verily believe that a person now Present
who calls himself William Smith< no role > is the Highwayman that so
robbed him of his Watch and Money as aforesaid and that he doth
also verily believe that a Grey Mare which he hath seen in the
Possession of the said John Chambers< no role > to be the Grey Mare on which
the said William Smith< no role > rode at the time of the said RobberyAnd
the said John Chambers< no role > says that on Saturday the 12th.. of January
aforesaid the said William Smith< no role > came to this Informants Stables
in Saint John Street That he said he lived with Mr. Nicholls in
Gilt Spur Street Japanner and [..] that he wanted a Saddle
Horse for his said Master to go to Ilford on which he let him
have the Grey Mare which he hath since shewn to the said
