The Information of Mary Lowire
Alexander Grinley< no role > Patrick Devine< no role >
Jane< no role > Wife of John Houghton< no role > and
Charles Jealons< no role >
taken before Us four of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace in and for the
said County City and Liberty

Who being severally upon Oath say and first this
Informant Mary Lowire< no role > for herself saith that
she is House keeper and serves in the Shop of the
other Informant Alexander Grinley that about three
Weeks ago a Woman whom this Informant verily
believes to be the person now present who calls
herself Ann Spedding< no role > came to her Masters Shop
and bought a Two penny or a three penny Loaf &
gave this Informant a piece of Blanched Copper
new produced as and for a Six pence upon which
this Informant gave her the proper Change that
upon this Informants Master coming in he saw
the same Immediately Say'd it was a bad Six pence
that upon Saturday last the same Woman as this
Informant verily believes came again to the same
Shop and asked this Informant for a three penny
Loaf which this Informant put upon the Compter
when the same Woman tendered her another
Piece of Blanched Copper now produced in payment
for the said Loaf and upon looking thereon
suspecting it to be Counterfeit Six pence this Informant
called her Master up from below who upon being
told what had passed Immediately sent for a Constable
and had the said Ann Spedding apprehended
And this Informant Alexander Grinley for himself
saith that upon Saturday last he was called up
into his Shop by his House keeper the other Informt
on Account of a Woman now present who calls herself
Ann Spedding having Offered a Counterfort Six pence
now Produced in Payment for a Loaf and this Informt.
