The Information of Eleanor Smallbrook< no role >
taken before me this 15th. day of
June 1774

Who being upon Oath says that she is a Chare Woman
that last Tuesday Night was Week about 10 o'Clock
she came from Mrs. Maidan's at Pimlico where she had been
at Work that day, that she came by the Lock Hospital
to Hyde Park Corner, that opposite to the back door of
St. George's Hospital she was overtaken by a Man who had
some Spots of blood on his Waistcoat, that she asked him what
was o'Clock, that he answered he did not know, that at this
Time she heard somebody crying out behind at a Distance,
that she desired the Said Man to Stop but he refused and
went on before her, that the Said Man appeared to be in
much Confusion and was pale & trembled, that this Informant
went on and when she was opposite the Hercules Pillars two
Men who appeared to be Foreigners overtook her and asked her
whether she had seen any body in light coloured Cloaths pass by
her, that She answered that there was a person just before
who was all in a Tremble [..]
andwas in light coloured Cloaths, that the said two Men accordingly
went on and laid hold of the Man who had Spoke to this
Informant as abovementioned, that this Informant also
told the said two Men she Suspected the Said Man with Blood
on his Waistcoat had been about some Business that
was not right, that all the Conversation this Informant
had with the Said two Men who appeared to be Foreigners
