taken
before me this 6th. day of June 1774
Who being upon Oath says that on Friday Morning last he
saw three Persons now present who call themselves Thomas
Lambeth< no role >
Samuel Ward< no role >
and George Wheatley< no role >
on board this
Informant's Barge on the New Canal
near Old Ford
, that the
said George Wheatley was at the Helm of the said Barge and
the said Thomas Lambeth and Samuel Ward were among the
Sacks of Wheat with which the said Barge was loaded, that
when this Informant was about the Distance of 150 Yards
from the said Barge he observed the said Samuel Ward and
Thomas Lambeth stooping and rising as if they were taking
Corn out of the said Sacks that when he came to the said
Barge he found about fifteen of the Said Sacks of Corn untied
and that there was about a Bushel and half of Wheat in another
Sack by itself, and this Informant further says that he does
verily believe the said Thomas Lambeth Samuel Ward and
George Wheatley did feloniously take the said odd Quantity
of Wheat out of the other Sacks of Wheat this Informant's
