the two of his Majesty's Justices
of the Peace
for the said County
Who severally being upon Oath Say and
for this Informant MaryWho being upon
Oath saith that about the Middle of March last
this Informant & her Family went out of Town
did not leave any person in the said House but
left the Care of it to And Mr. Sheppard a
Neighbour that the Day before she left her
said House she locked all her Drawers Chests
& Cloaths Presses excepting One Chest which
she could not Lock in which Chest was
a Quantity of Silver Trimming & a piece of
Mechlin Lace< no role >
& a great Quantity of Thread
& Blont Lace
& further saith that the Laces
now Produced were a part of the said Laces
which were in the said Chest as abovementd
that in the beginning of April this Informt
received Information from Mr Sheppard that
her House in Town had been broke Open
[..] that the House had been Robbed & that
the Cloaths & Linen Press that Mrs. Shephard
had seen were Locked were broke Open and
Empty & that the Chest which this Informt
had not Locked was Empty Upon which she
returned to Town & examined her Cloaths and
Linen Press & other Drawers & found that all
the Table Linen Sheets & other Linen had
been Stolen out of the Linen press & also
two feather Beds five Blankets a large Quilt
a Small Coloured Counterpane & many other
things also a Table Clock this Informant
further saith that the Table Linen Sheets
& other things & also the Clock now Produced
