John Padgitt< no role > This name instance is in set 3663. of White Chapel Middlesex Butcher maketh Oath
and Saith, that he this Deponent being bound by a recognizance
to appear before the Grand Jury at Hicks Hall , and also to appear
at the last General Goal Delivery of Newgate held for the County of
Middlesex at Justices Hall in the Old Bailey then and there to give
Evidence against one John Miller< no role > upon Suspicion of Stealing two
Linen Streets; That he this Deponent according to the purport
of the said Recognizance and his Duty in that behalf did appear
before the said Grand Jury and was Examined and gave such
Evidence as he knew before the said Grand Jury upon a certain
Bill of Indictment Exhibited against the said John Miller< no role > for
the said Felony And this Deponent further saith that he did
Akewise Attend at the Old Bailey on Wednesday the Tenth day
of April last and the Thursday and Friday then next following
in order to give Evidence when thereunto required upon the said
Bill of Indictment to the Jurors that should pass upon the
Trial of the said John Miller< no role > , And this Deponent further saith
that he tarried or Waited at the Old Bailey the said Friday until
Night and until the Court broke up or was adjourned And then
he this Deponent Examined the List or paper whereon is Entered
the Names of the Persons to be tried, And there saw the Name of
the said John Miller< no role > entered upon the said List or paper the last
Name but one there being five or Six other Names or Persons to
be tried as he this Deponent then understand and believed before
the Trial of the said John Miller< no role > and then he this Deponent went
home to Bed And this Deponent further saith that about three
O Clock the next Morning he was called up by one George Wi [..]
to go with him in search of one Robert Barker< no role > when this
Deponent was Informed by Mr Bond belonging to Sir John
Fielding

Deponent
