the abovenamed Defendant Maketh Oath
That a Bill of Indictment has been preferred and found against
this Deponent for Forgery and was not Taken up untill Monday
last Since which time his Sollicitor has been to the house of
Mr John Green< no role >
who lives at Kings Cliffin
Northamptonshire
And Informed him That this Deponent was Taken in Custody
And waste to Take his Tryal at this present Sessions when he
found the said John Green< no role >
Confirmed to his room by the Gout
And could not Stir out but wod Attend at the next Sessions
And as this Deponent [..] Saith That the said John Green< no role >
is Principal
Witness on Behalf of this Deponent [..] on the said Tryal and therefore Cant without his
Evidence Safely Go to Tryal thereon Therefore humbly hopes
That this Honourable Court will put off his Tryal hill the
Next Sessions at which time he will be ready and desirous
to Take his Tryal on the said Indictment
Sworn the 16th Jany. 1769
at the Sessions house in the
Old Baily
