The Information and Examination of Danl.
Darwell< no role > and James Field< no role > taken on Oath the 12th.
day of August 1769 before me one of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County

And first the said Daniel Darwell< no role > Saith that this Morning being
at Spitalfields market Middlesex he felt some person take something
out of his Coat Pocket, That upon Search he found he had lost
one Linnen Handkerchief thereout, That several people in the
market calledtoout to this Examinant, and Acquainted him that a
person (pointing to one James Cole< no role > ) had taken the Same, That
thereupon the said James Cole< no role > win away and turned the Corner into
another Street, And this Deponent pursued him,and took him, but
he had not the said Handkerchief about him, but upon his being
Searched there were found Six other Handkerchief about him
That from what this Depont. was so told, and from the behavior
of the said James Cole< no role > he verily believes he took the Same

James Field< no role > Saith that when this Dept (who is a
Head borough ) was Charged by sd Darwell with said Cole for the sd. Offence, he
found Six Linnen Handkerchief [..] on him Danl Darwell< no role >
