AN INQUISITION indented, taken for our Sovereign LORD the KING, at the House of
lamp the Sign of the Wheat [..] Church Street
Paddington in the Parish of Paddington in the County of
Middlesex , the Nineteenth Day of November in the Fortieth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign LORD GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of GOD of Great-Britain, France
and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before George Hodgson< no role > Gent
one of the CORONERS of our said LORD the KING, for the said County, on View of the Body of
Abraham Bodys then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
the several Persons whose Names are hereunder-written and Seals affixed, good and lawful
Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly sworn and
charged to inquire, for our said LORD the KING, when, how, and by what Means, the said
Abraham Bodys< no role > came to his
Death, do, upon their Oath, say, That the said Abraham Bodys on the se [..]
Day of November in the Year aforesaid at the Parish and in the
County aforesaid being in a Room there wherin then was a For
It so happened that the Cloaths which the said Abraham Bodys< no role >
then and there had on his Body accidentally took for By Means
whereof he was very much scowped and burnt of when said [..]
and burning he the said Abraham Bodys then and there died
And so the Jurors aforesaid do say that the said Abraham
Bodys in Manner and by the Means aforesaid accidentally
came to his Death and not otherwise
IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said CORONER asthe said Chas. Walsh< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, and the Rest of his said Fellows, have, to this Inquisition set
their Hands and Seals, the Day, Year, and Place first above-written.
