An Inquisition intended taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at The Parish of Saint Mary
Islington in the County of Middlesex , the First Day of April in the 23d Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, KING, Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville< no role > one of the Coroner of Our said Lord
the KING, for the said County, on view of the body of William Selby< no role >
then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of Edward Bartington< no role >
John Maddocks< no role > , Joseph Ridgway< no role > , Thomas Yallop< no role > , John How< no role > , James Collins< no role > , Isaac
Taylor, Thomas Whitmore< no role > , Thomas Price< no role > , Robert Fifield< no role > , Adam Winlow< no role > , John
Merkin, Conrad< no role > Loyer , Thomas Evans< no role > and John Matthew< no role >

good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by Law required, and who being then and there duly sworn
and charged to enquire for our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said William Selby< no role >
came to h is Death, Do upon their Oath say, That the said William
Selby on the Twenty fifth day of March in the Year aforesaid being going to
Clean a Drain at Holloway in the Parish and County aforesaid It so happened
That he the said William Selby< no role > then and there accidentally casually and by misfortune
fell backwards into an adjoyning Gravel Pit By means whereof he the said
William Selby< no role > then and there One Mortal Contusion on the Brain of him the said
and there died And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid Do say
That the said William Selby< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid
accidentally, casually and by misfortune came to his Death

In Witness whereof, as well the said Coroner, as the said Edward Bartington< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
