An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Parish of Saint James
Clerkenwell in the County of Middlesex , the Sixteenth Day of November in the 22nd. Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, KING, Defender of the
Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville< no role > one of the Coroner s of Our said Lord the
KING, for the said County, on view of the body of Elizabeth Garnett< no role >
then and there lying dead, upon the oath of John Franks< no role > William
Hudson Lewis Williams< no role > Joseph Matthews< no role > Richard Ashley< no role > Jonathan Scollick< no role >
Henry Mansfield< no role > Thomas Whitehead< no role > Joseph Bell< no role > John France< no role > Robert Winn< no role >
Leonard Goodridge< no role > and John Bellson< no role >

good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by Law required, and who being then and there duly sworn
and charged to enquire for Our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said Elizabeth Garnett< no role >
came to h er Death, do upon their oath say, That the said Elizabeth Garnett< no role >
On the Fifteenth Day of March in the Year aforesaid was found drowned
and suffocated in The New River That the said Elizabeth Garnett< no role > had not
any Marks of Violence appearing about her And how or by what Means
She became drowned and suffocated No Evidence doth appear to the said Jurors

In Witness whereof, as well the said Coroner, as the said John Franks< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
