An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the parish of Saint
John within the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey in the twenty third day
of July in the thirty ninth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
third King of Great Britain and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner
of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on
view of the body of Fordley Hornegold now here lying dead by the oath of
Alaxander Lyall< no role > , Thomas Jackson< no role > , Thomas Downing< no role > , John Baker< no role > , William
Gordon Parker< no role > , John Huddibull< no role > , John Ridge< no role > , John Nettleton< no role > , James Key< no role > , Robert
Shalders
< no role > , Thomas Jefferys< no role > , and Thomas Harris< no role > , good and lawful men of
the Borough of Southwark aforesaid in the County aforesaid who being now
here duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King
when how and in what manner the said Fordley Hornegold< no role > came to his death
say upon their oath that the said Fordley Hornegold then lately before
accidentally casually and by misfortune fell into the River of Thames there
Situate and in and with the waters of the said River was then and there
Suffocated and drowned of which said Suffocation and drowning the said
Fordley Hornegold< no role > did then and there dieIn Witness whereof as well
the said Coroner as the said Alexander Lyall the foreman of the said Jurors
on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows in their presence have to
their Inquisition for their hands and Seals the day year and place first
abovewritten.
