Depositions of witnesses taken at London
that is to say at the parish of Saint Bennett
Pauls wharf in the ward of castle baynard
in London aforesaid this 6th day of May 1799
on view of the body of Mary Thompson< no role >
now here lying Dead

Thomas Moody< no role > of Haines in the County of Middle Bargeman
maketh Oath that about 4 O clock on Saturday morning Dept
being in a Barge Hambrough wharf Thames street London
a little Bay in the head of the Barge with Dept was in sayed Master here is a
Man in the waterDept went forward and with a Hitcher
Dept. had in his Land he looked the deced up and got her
into a Craft that lay a head of Dept Bargethat he was a
little waren but appeared quite Deadthat the deced was
conveyed to the fortune of was Publick Housethis which is
a receiving house appointed by the Human Society that a
Surgeon was sent for who soon after came and upon remaining
the deced sayed it was no used to try to recover her for that she
was so far gone that Dept with a woman whose name Dept
understands in coventry examined the deceds Pocketthat dept
formed in the deceds Pocket a small Egg Nothing Grater with a
Duplicate for [..] in it a small needle case and a thimble Dept
also took the two ward Rings now produced from the deceds fingers

worker maketh oath that on Friday [..] Night last he was constable
of the Night and being in the watch house at London house yard
about ¼ part 2 in the Morning the deced was brought in [..] by
one Hatred the Watch house keeperthat she appeared intoxicated
that a man a stranger to Dept came in with her and sayed
from what he had seen of her a little before he appeared she
intended to make away with herselfDept talked to he and
persuaded her from it she sayed she would not do it and asked the
man who came in with her to see he as far as the stand that
the man sayed he would see her as far as he was going and
then they both left the watch house
