London Deposition of a Witness taken at London
that is to say at the parish of Christchurch
in the Ward of Farringdon within in
London aforesaid this 6th day of April
1799 on view of the body of John Gilbert< no role >
now here lying Dead

Charles Wilson< no role > a Prisoner in the Gaol of Newgate maketh
Oath that he hath known the deced John Gilbert< no role > about twelve
Months That he came into the fisk Ward where Dept. attends
the 19th Febry last ill in a decline and Arthimatic Complaint
That he continued in the sick Ward from that time until the 28th.
March when being better he left the Ward That getting worne
he again came into the Sick Ward on the 1st April instant
where he continued declining daily until yesterday the 5th. instant
when he departed this Lift That he was on elderly Man
and appeared to have an inward decay That he was attended
by the Surgeon of the Gaol during witness.
