An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King atLondonthe Parish of Saint
Thomas within the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey on the Twelfth day of July in the thirtieth year of the reign
of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the
Faith Etc before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said the King for the City of London and Borough of
Southwark on view of the Body of Louis Gigognan now her lying dead by the oath of John Mitchell< no role > Joshua
Cubbidge John Overy< no role > George Whire< no role > William Bridger< no role > William Cromwell< no role > John Johnson< no role > James Gardiner< no role > John

Whitfield and Edward Fox< no role > good and lawful men of the Borough City of London aforesaid in the County aforesaid who being now here duly
chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the said
Louis Gigognan came to his Death say upon their Oath that on the ninth day of July in the Year aforesaid
one Henry Allport< no role > of Union hall within the Borough aforesaid in the County aforesaid one of the Officers to the
Shereiff of the County of Surrey having in his Custody and possession a certain Warrant under the Hand and seal
of the said Sheriff whereby the said Henry Allport< no role > was directed to take and arrest the Body of the said Louis
Gigognan to answer for a certain Debt then due by the said Louis Gigonan to a certain person or persons
whose name or names to the Jurors is or are as yet unknown And that the said Henry Allport< no role > together with one Barnaby
Windsor
< no role > then being the Servant of the said Henry Allport< no role > in pursuance and for the due and lawful execution
of the said Warrant and in order to take and arrest the Body of the said Louis Gigognan for the Debt and upon the
Warrant aforesaid did go to the lodging Room of the said Louis Gigognan on the second Floor [..] of the
dwelling house of one Susannah Munt< no role > Widow situate in Swan Court Gravel Lane within the Borough
aforesaid in the County aforesaid And that the said Barnaby Windsor< no role > did then and there suddenly force and
Croak open the door of the said Lodging Room of the said Louis Gigognan< no role > he the said Louis Gigognan there
being therein And that he the said Louis Gigognan well knowing he premises but contriving and endeavouring
to wade the pursuit of the said Henry Allport< no role > as such Officer as aforesaid and the said Barnaby Windsor< no role > as
his servant as aforesaid and in order to avoid being arrested and taken for the Debt aforesaid did then and
there precipitately jump from and out of the Window of the said [..] room on the second Keor of the said dwelling houseandinto the open
Street and to and upon the Stone Pavement there Whereby the said Louis Gigognan did then and there receive
one mortal wound and fracture in and upon the Head of him the said Louis Gigognan of which said
mortal wound and fracture he the said Louis Gigognan did then and there instantly die And the Jurors
aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do say that the said Louis Gigognan in manner and by the means
aforesaid casually and by misfortune was accidentally killed In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as the said John Mitchell< no role > the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows in their
presence have to this Inquisition set their Hands and seals the day year and Place first above written
