been denied its usual support, of course must have
deceased . That upon the whole he is of opinion that it was
either a natural or procured abortion and that the Child
was still born.

Hector Campbell< no role >

William Booth< no role > a Waterman and a Lodger at Mr. Swifts
in Dog and Bear Yard in said parish of Saint John
maketh Oath and saith that Yesterday Morning about
½ part three Dept. being then in his Bed near Brooks's
Wharf in said parish Man whose name he believes
to be Sharp [..] comeing ever a Small Boat called a
Leg Boat (in order to get into the Boat in which Dept.
was in) halloed out and sayed here is a Child That
Deponent then looked in said Lug Boat which belongs
to Mr. James Smith< no role > of said parish Lighterman and
there saw a Child laying in the Bottom of said Lug
Boat that he left the said Child in said Lug Boat
and went about his business. That about ½ part five
of same Morning Dept. returned to said Lug Boat
and put the said Child into Shell which had been
brought there for that purpose [..]
