WHEREAS Complaint hath been made unto us, the Right
Honourable John Hopkins< no role > Mayor
of the City of London , and William Gill< no role > Esquire one of
the Aldermen of the said City, two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace
in and for the said City and Liberties thereof, by Matthew
Gibson one of the Churchwardens of the
Parish of saint Dionis backchurch London , that William
Arch( an Inhabitant of the said Parish, and
one of the People commonly called Quakers) had refused to pay such
Money as was duly rated upon him, towards the necessary Repairs of the
Church of the said Parish; and We, the said Justice, proceeding according
to the Form of the Statute, in that Cafe made and provided, to examine
upon Oath, into the Truth and Justice of the said Complaint, did by Order
under our Hands and Seals, direct that the said William Arch< no role > This name instance is in set 1505.
upon Notice of our said Order, should forthwith pay unto the said Church
warden the Sum of three pounds Seven [..] Shillings and six pence being
the amount of One yearly Rates, (duly made for the Purpose
afore-mentioned) ending at Easter last and also the
further Sum of Nine Shillings and Four-pence, towards the Charges
already sustained for the Recovery of the said Dues: And whereas, the
said Matthew Gibson< no role > having this Day made
Oath before me, whose Name is hereunto subcribed, that he hath given
Notice of the said Order to the said William Arch< no role > This name instance is in set 1505.
and that he hath refused or
neglected to obey the same, or any Part thereof.

These are therefore in His Majesty< no role > 's Name, to authorize and require
you the said Churchwarden with the Assistance of a Constable of this
City, in the Day Time, to levy by Distress and Sale of the Goods and
Chattles of the said William Arch< no role > This name instance is in set 1505. the said
Sum of Three pounds Seven [..] Shillings and Six pence together with
the further Sum of fourteen Shillings and four pence
for the Costs, rendering
to him the Overplus of such his Goods and Chattels, if any be, over and
besides the said Several Sums of Money, and the reasonable Charges of
making such Distress. And for your so doing, this shall be your sufficient
Warrant. Given under my Hand and Seal this 4th
Day of July 1792

To the said Churchwardens of the Parish
of saint Dionis backchurch
in the City of London , and to all Con-
stables and others whom these may
concern. }
