deficiency of Mr. Smith's account.
Poor Rate
2d. And That the Poor's Rate, in addition to the last
year's assessment, be raised to an Equivalent of Six pence
in the Pound, at the discretion of the Church Warden's and
Overseers
, according to the rents of Premises occupied by
the Inhabitants as computed in the Land Tax Books
of the last year, in further Aid of the aforesaid deficiency
And being seconded, the Question was put on each of
the said Motions, and carried in the Affirmative
Several Plans were proposed to be adopted how to
secure the Parish Money in future, and after some
time spent thereon, Mr. Tutet moved,
1st. That within fourteen days after each Quarter
day the Acting Church Warden do lay before the Overseers
a State of the Monies received and paid, and also due
on the Parish Account, and that the Workhouse
bills
be paid in Presence of the Overseers; on failure of
which (there being a sufficient Balance in hand) a
Vestry to be immediately call'd.
2d. That the Vestry Clerk do summons the Church-
Wardens and Overseers at the aforesaid times, and
aftner; if needful; and enter the proceedings of such
Meetings in a Book for that purpose, which Book
shall be produced and read at a Public Vestry.
3d. That the Master of the Workhouse
be desired to
send his Bill within seven days after each Quarter
day to the late Church Warden
, being an Overseer, and
that this Vestry recommends it to the Church Wardens
and Overseers to visit the Poor house once in every
Month at least.
And being seconded, the Question was put on
each of the said several Motions and carried in
the affirmative. After which, Mr. Church Warden
Dod adjourn'd the Vestry until another Summons
