The Minutes of the last Vestry of the 31st. March
read and confirmed.

Audit of
Church Wardens
Account

Mr. Barry late Church Warden not having audited
his Account, and as it was usual to produce the
Church Wardens Account at the making the Church rate
Mr. Tutet acquainted the Vestry on behalf of Mr. Barry
that the Account was finish'd, and would very soon be
audited, and that there was a Balance of Twelve Pounds
or there abouts due to the Parish in Mr. Barry's hands.

Mr. Viner stated the ill consequence and Inconveni-
ence that must arise to the Parish by delaying the
Account and not paying the Bills at the usual time;
and Moved that Mr. Barry late Church Warden be ordered
to audit his account on or before the 21st. day of this
instant October, and being seconded by Mr. Shank, the
Question was put and carried in the Affirmative Nem: Con

Poor in
Workhouse

Previous to the making the Church rate, Mr. Church-
Warden Eley took notice, that there was a great Increase
of the Poor; that the Bill at the Parish Workhouse for
the last Quarter came to a larger sum than usual, and
he had reason to apprehend the Poor's Rate would not be
sufficient to pay the expenses it was intended to answer,
and he thought it necessary to lay then particulars before
the Vestry, as the Inconvenience would be greater if there
shod. be a deficiency in the Church Rate. The Church rate
was thereupon raised from six pence to eight pence in the
Pound, and the above Order sign'd for that purpose.

Mr. Aaron Norden< no role > 'sLegacy

A Gentleman attended the Vestry from the Executors of
the late Aaron Norden< no role > Esq ; an Inhabitant of this Parish
with an Extract of his Will, which was in the Wor'ds following
I Give to the Church Wardens of the Parish where my
Residence shall be at the time of my decease Twenty
Pounds, to be distributed to the Honest and industrious
"Poor of the said Parish" and the same Gentleman
paid the Legacy to Mr. Church Warden Eley for the
Purpose aforesaid.

The Vestry was then adjourn'd until further Notice.
