Mr. Church Warden Phillips Acquainted the Gent.
of his Resolution of Serving the office of Church Warden
no longer than Until the 24th. Instant and in Support
of his Resolution produced an Extract from the Regry
of the Deanry of the Arches Courtof Londonof London
of an Act of Court passed the 24th. May last which,
brought to the Table & Read and Mr Phillips also Claimed
the Benefit of An Act passed the last Session of
Parliamt. which he Exempted (as he Alledged) All
Surgeons from Midsr: next being chose or Serving
Parish or Ward Offices & thereupon Desired the
Vestry to proceed in the Choice of another C. Warden
in his Room & the Quitted the Chair, Whereupon
Mr. Thomas Hunter< no role > imediately took Place as
Upper Church Warden in the Room of Mr Phillips
without opposition.


Mr. John Clifton< no role > This name instance is in set 3415. Excused from Serving Church
Warden he being almost Deaf & had lost the Use of
his Limbs
