of An Act of Court passed
the 24th. May last
which was brought to
the Table and Read
And Mr Phillips also
Claimed the Benefit of
An Act passed the last
Session of Parliament
which Exempted (as he
Alledged) All Surgeons
from Midsr: next being
chose or Serving Parish
or Ward Offices, And
thereupon desired this
Vestry to proceed in the
Choices of Anot. Church
Warden in his Room &
Quitted the Chair

Mr. John Phillips< no role > Church Warden Acquainted the Gentlemen
present that he had called this Vestry to Lay before them his
Resolution to Serve the Office of Church Warden of this Parish
no longer than until the 24th. Day of June Instant And in Support
of his Resolution Produced a Coppy or Extract from the Registry
of the Deanry of the Arches Court of London of An Act of Court
passed on Friday the 24th. Day of May last being the Fourth
Session in Easter Term Whereby Dr. Bettesworth Judge of the said
Court Declared his Opinion That Mr. Phillips was obliged to
by Law to Serve the Office of Church Warden for the Parish
of Saint Dionis Back church till the 24th. Day of June next
and Administred the Oath to him then present in Judgement
faithfully to Serve the said office so long as he was bound by
Law. And the said Coppy or Extract of the said Act of Court
was brought up to the Table and read. And Mr. Phillips
also Claimed the Benefit of An Act passed in the last Session
of Parliament, which Exempted (as he Alledged) All Surgeons
from Midsomer next being chose or Serving of
Parish or Ward Offices. Mr. Phillips therefore desired this
Vestry would proceed in the Choice of Another Church Warden
in his Room and Quitted the Chair.
