At this Vestry It was proposed to putt Mr. John
Phillips Surgeon in Nomination to Serve the Office of
Upper Church Warden for the Year ensuing who was
thereupon heard in his Place & Desired to be Excused
from serving the said Office, there being a Bill
depending in Parliament for Exempting All
Surgeons from serving all Parish and Ward Offices
which would take place at Midsr: next, And the
Gentlemen present took the Same into Consideration
and after sometime Spent thereon The Question was
putt whether Mr. John Phillips< no role > Excuse should be
Allowed and it past in the Negative by a Great Majority
