Memorandum Itt is this 6th. day of February 1738 agreed between The Worshipfull
Company of Carpenters London and anthony Chapman< no role > of Philpott Lane London Joyner us manner
following (that is to say) The said Company doth hereby agred to lett unto the said anthony
Chapman his Exrs. adurs and Assigns A Lease for the term of 61 years from Michas next
[..] of their Promisses in Naked Boy alley & Barnaby Street Southwark late in
the Possion of Mr John Hutton< no role > under the following Rent & Covent. Vizt Under the yearly rent
of Seven Pounds payable Quarterly to Commence Rent off Michas 1739 And the said Anthony
Chapman is to Covenant to pull down the two front houses and to build them New with Bush
and is to lay out the sume of three hundred Pounds within twelve Months from the date of the
Lease for which he is to be allowed All Materials now standing on the promisses And
under such other Covenant as are usuall in Building Leases and the said Anthony
Chapman doth hereby agree to accept of a Lease of the said Premisses upon the above
terms and to execute a Counterpart thereof accordingly witness his hand the day and
year above written
