Upon a consideration of the Case lately laid before
the Recorder & Common Serjeant & their opinions
thereon, whereby it appears that persons committed to
the prison of this Hospital under the Lottery Acts
cannot be legally employed in the usual hard labour
of the house, This Committee upon a perusal of both
opinions having reason to doubt of the legality of
Commitments to this house of persons of that description
recommend to the General Court to inform the Court
of Alderman thereof, & to request them to take the same
into their consideration
And the Committee adjourned
