The Vestry met this day and took into their Consn. a Bill delivd.
by Messienrs Hattersley and Son of the Present Churchwardens
Messienrs Collis and Lambert Charging them Debtors in account
to them in a Ballance or Sum of Two hundred and Sixty six
Pounds for providing & Lighting Certain Lamps within the Parish
for divers years Past; When the majority of the Vestry were of
opinion That as the said Churchwardens never made any Contract
with Mr Hettersley and his Son or either of them relative to the
Providing or Lighting of any Lamps, nor ever made any promise of
payment to them, they the Churchwardens were in no Wise liable,
nor ought to pay such demand.
