Henry Gardener< no role > maketh oath that he was
born in the parish of Midcalder in the Shire of Edinborough
in that part of great Britain called Scotland That he this
Deponent never did any Act to his knowledge or belief to
gain a Settlement for himself in that part of Great Britain
called England That he hath a Wife named Elizabeth < no role >
and two Children both of whom were born in Lower
East Smithfield in the parish of St Botolph without Aldgate
in the County of Middlesex namely margaret < no role > Aged about
eight years & ten Months & Henry < no role > Aged about Six years
& three Months the lawful Issue of this Deponent by his Said
Wife to whom he was lawfully married & who is by birth
a Scotch woman & never did any Act to gain a Settlement for
herself in any part of England.

born a Bastard in Red Cross Street in the parish of Sd Botolph
witht Aldgate in the sd County as he has been informed by his
Mother & Verily believes to be true That he was never bound
an Apprentice nor ever lived as a hired Servant for a year
nor ever rented a house of Ten pounds a year or upwards
nor ever Served any parish office or paid any Poors
Rates or kings Taxes nor ever did any Act to gain a
Settlement in his own right.
