Elizabeth Clay< no role > the widow of Thomas Clay< no role >
deced maketh oath That She has been informed by her said late
husband & which information She believes to be true that her
said late husbands Father Joseph Clay< no role > also deced was duly
bound apprentice to & Served the whole of his apprenticeship
with one Mr Tate in Hoxton Square in the Parish of Saint
Leonard Shoreditch in the County of Middx Stocking maker that
he did not afterwards do any Act to gain a Subsequent Settlement
and that by means of Such apprenticeship this Deponents said late
husband in right of his said late Father & as deriving a Settlement
from him was also legally Settled there at the time of his death
this Deponts sd late husband never having to the Knowledge
information or belief of this Depont ever lived as a hired Servant
for a year or been bound an apprentice or rented a house of the
yearly Rent of Ten pounds or Served any parish office or paid any
Poors Rates or Kings Taxes or ever done any Act to gain a Settlemt
in his own right nor hath She this depont. Since her said husbands
death ever done any Act to her knowledge or belief to gain a
Settlement for herself and that about thirty years ago She was
married to her said husband at the Fleet
