The Voluntary Examination of Mary Davidson< no role > of
the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields in the County of Middlesex
Widow taken on oath before me Burford Camper< no role > Esquire one of
his Majesties Justices of the Peace in and for the said County
this Sixth day of October 1773

Who on her oath Saith That on the Twenty fifth day of
October in the year one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty three
she was delivered of a Male Bastard Child in Brown Bear Alley
in the Parish of Saint Botolph without Aldgate in the said County
of Middlesex Since Baptized in the Church belonging to the said
Parish by the name of John Coates< no role > and that the said Child is
become Chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Botolph without
Aldgate and to this Deponents knowledge or belief the said Child
hath done no Act to gain a Settlement for himself and that Edward
Coates
< no role > now a Servant & living with Mr Robinson a Confectioner in
new Bond Street in the sd County did get her with Child of the said
Bastard Child.
