John Robertson< no role > Maketh oath That he was born in North Britain and th [..]
his Parents to his knowledge or belief never did any Act to
gain a settlement in England; That divers years ago he
was hired & lived as a hired Servant by the year at the year
wages of Five Pounds with one Mr Kelvington in the
Parish of Thesk in the County of york and continued
in such Service for two years he being during such his
Servitude a single & unmarried man and by means them
as he is advised gamed a legal Settlement there; That at the
he hath since lived as a hired servant by the year in the
Part of Great Britain Called England yet he was during
such his last mentioned servitude lawfully married to [..]
present wife and could not as he is advised there by gai [..]
a subsequent settlement; That he never rented a house of
the yearly Rent or Value of Ten Pounds nor ever served
any Parish office or paid any Poors Rates or kings Tax
nor to his knowledge or belief hath he done any act to gain
a Settlement subsequent to his Servitude first Above mentioned
That he hath a wife named Amelia< no role > , and three children
namely Christian< no role > , aged about three years & two months
Jane< no role > , aged about two years & James< no role > , aged about seven
Months the Lawful Issue of this Depont. by his Said
Wife.
