forty years ago he was bound apprentice by
Indre to Mr. Henry Simpson< no role > a Cordwainer who
then lived in Broad St. Giless in the parish
of St. Giles in ye Fields in ye County of Middx.
& Continued in such Service for about four
years & then was Turned over to Mr.Bernard
Thatcher
< no role > a Cordwainer of Lamb Alley in ye
Same parish with whom he Served ye remaining
part of his apprenticeship And by Means
there of gained a legal Settlemt. there And
farther saith that he was never a hired Servt.
by ye Year nor Rented a house of Ten pounds
a Year or Upwards Nor Served any parish
offices nor to his knowledge or belief hath
he gained any subsequent Settlement
