surplus of their earnings given them on guitting the Hospital
would be an did and support to them until they could get
into a course of employment.That the number of Persons
wanting this relief would very soon be diminished by the
application of it, and the Hospitals in the Metropolis
greatly relieved, as it is a Known fact, that many Patients,
for want of the means of entire recovery of Health and
Strength, on guiting one Hospital have soon been obliged
to apply for admission into another. In any event the
application of a limited annual Sum for this Purpose
out of the Revenues of Bridewell, would, in the opinion
of your Committee be conformable to the intentions of the
Royal Founder and extremely beneficial to the Public.

That there is yet another description of individuals,
who are peculive, and original objects of the establishment
at Bridewell", Persons discharged. from Prisons", who returning
into society, without the habits or means of employment,
without Friends without Money and without Character
are driven to commit desperate Crimes, in order to prolong
a miserable existence. It is due to these Poor Creatures.
to the Community. to ourselves. and to the Memory of
our Royal Founder. that his expressed intentions in behalf
of them should be carried into effectMore difficulty, and
perhaps more expence will attend the reform & management
of these Persons, than of the Class before mentioned; but that
which has been effected in other places should not be
despaired of in Bridewell. Your Committee therefore is
of Opinion, that another limited part of the income, and
of the accommodation of the Hospital , should be set a part
for so important and necessary a Purpose.

That in order to execute the plan intended to be
recommended to the Court by your Committee, it will be proper
that a General Committee be appointed by the Court, and that
