despaired of obtaining any redress, unless they were supported and
countenanced by then Landlords, the Governors of this Hospital.
After which, it was Upon Motion-Resolved that the Minutes of
the House Committee be confirmed.
The Minutes of the Bethlem Committee of the following days
were read and confirmed whereby it appeared.
That the Committee had ordered that the Surveyor should
give directions for preparing and altering the Building
intended for the Men's privies at an expence not exceeding
£100.
That the Committee had Ordered that the Steward should
pay £55-16-2 found in the Cell of Henry Bailey< no role >
an
Incurable Patient
to Messrr Wright and Chapman or one
of them.
And that the Committee had Audited Workmens-
and Tradesmen's Bills amounting to £1860-16-..
Tuesday March 21st
That the Committee had contracted for Meat for Six
months and for baking bread, Beer Milk, Shaw, Candles
Stops and cloathing for twelve months from Lady day.
And had resolved that it be recommended to the General
Court that the Salaries paid to Thomas Edis< no role >
Edward Russell< no role >
and William Copeland< no role >
the three assistant Keepers
and
William Hough< no role >
the Cook
be advanced for £25 per Ann
to £30 per Annum to commence from Christmas last
