Continued Thursday 16th: July 1795 .

said with a greater prospect of good effect in one of the rooms
in the Prison than at the Chapel and that they should be
repeated at least three times in each week as also on Sunday

That the Chaplain should be desired to furnish the Short
Prayers and Select passages of Scripture which he recom-
mended us necessary and useful for the Prisoners so that
the same might be printed and placed as he should
direct

And that the Chaplain should be furnished with a Copy
of the above resolutions

Whereupon the said Minutes of the Prison Committee were confirmed
except as to that part which requires the Chaplain to read Prayers
and exhort the Prisoners 3 times a Week and also on Sunday; which
the Court Resolved, should be altered to two days and Sunday

The Minutes of the Bethlem Committee of the 9th. July were read
and confirmed whereby it appeared

That the Committee had contracted with Mr. Edwd. Tulet< no role > for
110. Chaldrons of Coals at 44s Pr. Chaldron

And had Resolved that the Surveyor should give directions
for the Hospital being white washed.

And that several repairs which the Surveyor had reported
to be absolutely necessary to be done to the Hospital in the
course of the present year and which he was of opinion
would not exceed £200 should be forthwith carried into
execution.

That a Memorial should be presented to the Commissioner's
of Sewers for the City of London to request that they would
give orders for paving the piece of ground near the South
gate of the Hospital which had lately been laid open to the
Public Highway.
