Legacy of £200 reported
and
Brooks James Esqr.
who paid the same
presented with a Staff

Mr. treasurer reported that he had received a Legacy
of £200.. given by the Will of Mr. John Rogers< no role > to Bethlem
Hospital and that James Brooks< no role > of Kenton near Harrow Esqr .
had paid the same and upon reading an Extract of the Will of the
said John Rogers< no role > bearing date the 24th. Day of December 1776
and proved the 24th. Day of December 1778 in the words and
figures following." Item I Give to the governors of the
Foundling Hospital £200.. To the governors of Bethlem
Hospital £200and to the governors of Saint Luke's Hospital
£200.. To the governors of Saint Thomas's Hospital Southwark
£100.. To the governors of the London Hospital £100 and to the
governors of the small Pox Hospital £100 for the Use of this said
respective Hospitals to be presented to the governors of the said
Hospitals respectively by such of my Friends as my Executrix shall
think proper to Nominate presuming that each Person so appointed
will be presented with a Staff as a Governor of such of the said
Hospitals as he shall be appointed to Present to and I direct
that all the said Legacies shall be paid within three Months
next after my decease" And a Motion being made and
seconded that a Staff be sent to James Brooks< no role > of Kenton near
Barrow Esqr . and the Question being put it passed in the
Affirmative unanimously It is thereupon Ordered that a
Staff be sent to the said Mr. Brooks forthwith as one of the
governors of these Hospitals.

Upon Reading a Report from the Committee of
Bethlem Hospital Earning date the 13th. Day of March last
under the Hands of Nathl. Thomas< no role > Esqr . Aldn . treasurer Henry
Cranke
< no role > Esqr . Auditor General William James< no role > Esqr . Mr. Deputy
Rogers and Benjamin Hopkins< no role > Esqr . Chamberlain in the words
and figures following. "A Complaint being made to this
Committee by Nathl. Horne< no role > of the Parish of Saint Paul Covent
Garden That on Monday last the eighth Instant between nine
and ten o.'Clock at Night as he was walking down Bridges Street
he was violently Assaulted and knocked down by a Bridewell
Boy whose name he has since learnt is Robert Angell, that he
gave him ne Provocation and therefore cannot Account for his
Behaviour otherwise than by his (said Horns) being employed a
