Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of this House bearing date the 8th. day
of May 1750 under the hands of Joseph Ayliffe< no role > Esqr . And General Dr . Richd Rawlinson< no role >
Mr. Nathainel Nash< no role > Phineas Cheeke< no role > Esqr . Mr. John Markham< no role > , Dr. Battie
as follows ViztIn Pursuance of an Order of Court the 12th. of April last this
Comittee have enquired into the amount of the Apothecarys Bills for 7 years last Past
his Attendance and the goodness of his Medicines and do find that his Bills for Bethlem
upon an Overage Amount to £372.17.10 a year & for Bridewell to £71 6.8 a year in the
whole £444.4.6 [..] And this Comittee are Unanimously of Opinion

1 st

That the Apothecary for this Future do Attend at Bethlem Hospital once every day in
the Week Except Sunday & oftner if Need be.

2dly

That by any Information laid before them it does not Appear that any bad Medicines
have been Adminstred to the Patients.

3 dly

That it would be for the Advantage of the Hospital and greater benefit of the Patients
that an Apothecarys Shop be Kept in Bethlem Hospital after Manner of St. Bartholomew
Hospital All which is Nevertheless Submitted to the Indgment of the Court and It is
Ordered that this Opinion be Reported to the CourtThis Court having duly Weighed
and Considered the Said Report doth Agree thereto with this Variation in the first Resolution
of the Comittee Vizt That the Apothecary or his Servant to be Approved of by the Trear or
Monthy Comittee do Attend at Bethlam Hospital come every day in the Week except
Sunday and ofter if need be and the last Resolution to be further Considered.

the Isle of Thanet in the Court of Kent Yeoman SettingforthThat the petitioner
Succeeded his Uncles Roger < no role > and James Taddy< no role > in Ciffend Farm in the Isle of Thanet part
of the Possiens of Bethlem Hospital and New holds the Same at thereat of £80 P Ann
under a Lease from the Governors which is near expiringThat the Petitioner is
willing to take a New Lease thereof with usual Covents for 21 Years from Militias next
at the Same rent of £80 payable half at the Compting house at Bridewell ,
Hospital and to Pay a Fine of £80 and to executed a Counterpart of Such Lease
And praying the Governors to grant him a Lease AccordinghIt is Ordered
that the Said Petition be referred to the Comittee of this House to Consider thereof and
Report their Opinion thereon to the Court
