Upon reading the Petition of Sr . John Eyles< no role > Bart . & Aldn . & Peter Flower< no role >
of the parish of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate London Esqr . settingforth
That the Governors by Indre of Lease bearing date the 20th. day of
January 1740. demised to the Petitioner Sr . John Eyles< no role > All those severall
peices or parcells of Ground with the Erections thereupon Erected scituate
and lying together in a irregular form in old Bethlem late in the
Occupation of Sr . Joseph Eyles< no role > & formerly of Benjamin Spyer< no role > or
Miller
< no role > containing from East to West in front towards Bethlem Street
Northward 26 foot of Assize little more or less and in the Reer or back
part there of Southward 40 foot 8 Inches of Assize little more or less
and in depth from North to South on the East side there by two
breaks Westward 128 foot 10 Inches of Assize little more or less and
on the Westside thereof by two breaks Eastward 144 foot one Inch
of Assize little more or lessTo hold from Christmas 1740 for
36 years at the Rent of £12. PannumThat the Petitioner St.
John Eyles< no role > is desirous of making an absolute Assignment of the said
premisses to the Petitioner Peter Flower< no role > for the remainder of the said
Term of 36 years now to come and unexpiredAnd praying that
the Petr. Sr . John Eyles< no role > may have leave absolutely to Assign the said
premisses to the Petr. Flower accordinglyIt is Ordered
that the said Sr . John Eyles< no role > have the Licence of this Court absolutely
to assign the said premisses to the said Peter Flower< no role > .

Upon reading the humble Petition of John Smither< no role > Bricklayer and
George Pearce< no role > Plumber settingforthThat the Petr. Smither agreed
to take a Lease or Leases of the Governors for Sixty one years of two
Houses in St. Martins Lane near Charing Cross (part of the possessions
of the Hospital of Bethlem ) in the several Occupations of the Petitioner
Pearce and Charles Home to commence from Christmas 1740. at the
yearly Rent of £12. payable quarterly clear of all Taxes the first
year to be at a Pepper Corn Rent and to pay a Fine of £20. and
to execute a Counter part of such Lease or Leases and to rebuild
according to the second rate of Building in London and to lay out
£600. or £700. in rebuilding the premissesThat the Petr. Smither
is desirous the said Lease or Leases may be made to the Petr. George
Pearce
< no role > who is willing to accept there of on the same Terms and
Conditions as the said Lease or Leases was intended to be granted
to the Petr. Smither and is willing forth with to pay the said Fine
of £20.and praying leave that the said Lease or Leases may are made
to Petr. George Pearce< no role > It is Ordered that the said Lease or Leases
be made to the said George Pearce< no role > accordingly.
