Hale Doctor Elected

Also Itt is ordered That the Petitions for the
Candidates for the Physicians place of these Hospitalls
being Vacant by the death of Doctor Edward Tyson< no role > be read
in Alphabeticall order Which said Severall Peticons being
severally read over Alphabetically they were all putt in
Nominacon in the same Alphabeticall Order for one of
them to be Elected Physitian of the said Hospitalls of
Bridewell and Bethlem And it appeared after severall
reductions that the plurallity of hands were for Doctor
Hale and Doctor Brauthwayt who being againe
putt in nomination for one of them to be Elected
thereunto The Right Worshippfull Sr. Thom Rawlinson< no role >
Knt . Alderman and President of the said Hospitalls was
pleased to Declare That in his Opinion the plurality of
hands were for the said Doctor. Hale Whereupon a Pole
being demanded by Mr. George Buckley< no role > and Mr. Lawrence
Parker
< no role > on behalfe of the said Doctor Brauthwayt the
same was granted Audit was desired That such of the
Governors. as were for the said Doctor. Brauthwayt should
withdraw into the Dineing Roome And that such Governors
as were for the said Doctor. Hale should continue in the
Court Roome of the said Hospitalls Which being done
Tellers were appointed (Vizt.) the said Mr George Buckley< no role >
and Mr. Lawrence Parker< no role > for the said Doctor. Brauthwayt
and Robert Heysham< no role > Esqr . and Mr. Benjamin Tudman< no role >
for the said Doctor. Hale Who haveing taken an account
of the Severall numbers and being Returned did Report
to this Court That the number of Governors for the said
Doctor. Hale were One hundred and Forty nine And
the number of Governors. which were for the said Doctor.
Brauthwayt were Seventy One, Soe that a great
Majority being for the said Doctor Hale This Court doth
thereupon declare the said Doctor. Hale Elected And
doth Ordr. That the said Doctor. Hale beAdmitted to be
Admitted to be Physitian to the said Hospitalls of
Bridewell and Bethlem untill the next Election day
And doth further Order That he shall from Michas next and
not before Enjoy the Sallery thereto belonging as the said
Doctor. Tyson had and Enjoyed the same.
