were forced to drop it and brought off only £50 in money:
And the sd Swift and Harding being asked what they could say
to the said Charge they said they made their escape from Mrs.
Vanghan the Porters mans wife And then the Porter and
his man being likewise asked what they could say to the said
Charge they both Excused themselves saying they Knew nothing
of it And the Porters mans wife being also called into Court And
the Rt. Worppll. Sr. Robt. Geffery< no role > Knt and Aldran of this City
Prsidt of there Hosplls. acquainting her wth. the said Charge and
asking her what she could day to it She said the Prisoners Swift
and Handing made their escapes from her as the was going to
Lock them up But the sd. matter of Fact as to the Prisoners being at
large as above plainly appeareing to the satisfaccon of this Court
Charles Vangham the Porters man was Imediately Ordered to
lay downe the keys of this Hospll upon the table wch he did
Whereupon It is Ordered by this Court That the said Charles
Vaughan
< no role > be forth with discharged of the place of Porters man
of the said Hospll: and that he be bound over to the next Session
of peace to be held for the City of London to answer any
Charge that may be brought agt. him And that the sd Prison
Swift and Harding be Returned to Newgate according to the sd
order for their Comittment to Bridewell and then be Psecuted
for the above fact: And It is further Ordered That James Male< no role >
one of the Beadles of this Hospll. do take care of the gates of the
Hospll. and the Prisons and Prisoners therein untill a New
Porters man be Elected in the place of the said Charles Vaughan< no role >
And It is further Ordered That the thanks of this Court be
given to the sd. Sr. Robt. Clayton< no role > for his great care of and
Kindness to this Hospll. in acquainting this Court of the said
matter wch is done accordingly:

Also upon the humble Peticon of Jonas Stone< no role > in behalfe of
his wife a poor Lunatick in Bethlem. That by reason of his great as
and Infirmitys he is not [..] in a capacity to pay [..] an arreare of sd
due to the sd. Hospll. of Bethlem for apparrell provided for his sd
wife It is Referred to the Comittee of the sd. Hospll. of Bethlem
to consider of the matter of the said Peticon.
