Church wardens
to pay five Shill
received for their
Lunatices


At this Court the Churchwardens of the Severall
Parishes of St. Clements Danes St. Thomas in Southwark
St. Andrew Holborne St. Buttolph Bishopsgate and
St. Andrew Undershaft Appearing to Give their Answers
touching the Lunaticks belonging to their respective Pishes
now in the Hospll of Bethlem Psuant to former Order of
this Court in that behalfe, and being Severally heard
what they had to say why they Should not pay for their
respective Lunaticks according to the rates settled by the
Standing Rules and Order of this Court It is
Ordered by this Court That the said respective Church-
wardens Doe within a weeke give Security for the paymt
for their said respective Lunaticks at the rate of Five
Shilliings a weeke from Midsumer last. of Which the
Said Churchwardens were made Acquainted And That
in case they complyed not with this Order the sd Lunaticks
would be sent to them to provide for as they Should think
fitt.

Also Upon the humble Petition of William Pout< no role > a
Poor Chimney Sweeper of the Town of Feversham in Kent
for some Mitigacon of the weekelye Payment of Five
Shillings for Keeping his Forfe being a Lunatick in the Hospll of Bethlem
And Upon Reading a Letter from Mr. Benjamin Godfrey< no role >
(a workly member of this Court) living near the sd Town giving
an account of the low Condicon of the Petr. and that he
is a real and Suitable Object of the Charity of this Court
It is Ordered by this Court That Security being given for
the Payment of Two Shillings and Six Pence a weeke
for her for the future That then the same Shall be
accepted And the Bond for paymt. of Five Shillings
a weeke Shall be delivered up to be cancelled

Also the Churchwardens of St. Mary be Bow Appearing
at this Court And Consenting to pay the Matron her
dues for Mary Harris< no role > Who was kept in the Hospll of
Bridewell at their instance & charge being a troublesome
pson It is Ordered That she be shereupon discharged
