Coffee house St. Anns. were further Directed to the aforesaid House No.3 in Nassan
Street and that amongst Such Persons One Mr. Webb of
Kensington and this Informant hath heard & believe it to be
True that the said Mr. William Webb< no role > was prevailed on (by the
said John William Leo< no role > This name instance is in set 3658. who at first personated one Mr. Lin
so the said Mr. Webb and also by Mr.Robert Holloway< no role > ) to
[..] Make Notes payable to different persons, but to whom is
at present Unknown to this Informant, in Order to Raise
Money for the said Mr. Webb, and that the said Mr. Leo and
Holloway did then Promise to Discount the said notes for
the use of the said Mr. Webb whoandwas to have paid £ pr.Cent
for their Trouble, and this Informant further saith that the
said Webb called several Times at No. 3 in Nassau Street to Enquire
of this Informant sometimes after Mr. Lin and sometimes
Mr. Holloway, Threatning that, unless Mr. Holloway or Mr.
Leo would meet him and Deliver up such notes he would
Expose them or Words to that Effect but this Informant
further saith he doth not remember that the said Webb did
ever enquire after the said Harrison herein before mentioned
And this Informant further Saith he did acquaint Mr.
Leo and Mr. Holloway with such Inquiry's made by Webb
& was Ordered by Leo to tell said Webb he would meet
him and Deliver up his Bills, But this Informant
further saith that the said Mr. Leo did order ones Mr. Donaldson
a Bookseller to send to his House in Nassan Street Sundry Books to a
very considerable amount which Books wereby Order of
the said Leo there Delivered and were paid for by the
said Leo by one of the said Webb's notes (so fraudulently
obtained) as this Informant has been told by Thomas
Harrison
< no role > & said Webb, and said Leo and very believes
to be True and this Informant further saith the said Books
were sent from Nassan Street to Mrs. Ashley's a Lodging
Hir'd by Mr. Holloway in Great Queen Street and from thence [..] this Informant
was Ordered by Mr. Holloway and Mr. Leo to Carry to Mr.
Trips Pawn broker at different times the following Book
