Share and take the Ring, at the same time offering That if he could
raise Ten Guineas he would lend him a Ten Pound Note and
that he might have the Ring with himThat he then went
out of said House, with Intent to borrow the said Ten Guineas, but
on considering of it returned again without the Money, and said
that the Man he wanted to see was gone out - That it was
then agreed as Castledine could not pay him his Share, that
he said Ring Should be deposited in the hands of the Landlord
on which the Bell was rang - That a Man who said he
was the Landlord and who was dressed in black Cloaths and
had short black curled hair then came in, said he was the
Landlord, and asked what they wantedThat said Castledine then
told this Informant that he would [..] lodge the Purse and
Ring in the Landlord Hands, and persuaded this Informant to
leave his Watch, and let them both be kept together, till the
next day - That he returned the next day to enquire for said Castledine,
and saw the said Samuel Butcher< no role > , who said he was the Landlord
and that he knew nothing of the BusinessThat he waited three
Quarters of an hour for said Castledine but he did not come
nor hath he seen him since till since [..] till last Night when
he apprehended himAnd the said Samuel Butcher< no role > says
that he is Landlord of the Cheequers at Charing Cross - that
neither the said Watch, Purse or Ring were left in his Care
and that who ever received the Same in his House assumed
his Character and that he doth not know who said Person was
that so assumed his Character
