Examination Text | Ann Stribblehill aged about 44 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed as a vagrant from the Parish of Stratford in the County of Warwick upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Gravely Stribblehill (gone from her) to whom she was married at Oxford about 26 years ago, that he is a Brazier by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Allen a Brazier in Hemmings Row in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid and there served five years and then went away, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant since, that she hath two children living by her said husband to wit Gravely aged 10 years (now with his father) and Ann eight years with this Examinant. Taken in the workhouse the 7th July 1756. |
