This Committee pursuant to their resolution of the 21st Instant examined
Mr. John George< no role >
their Collector on Oath relative to and setled his Account
of the Rate for Repairing Cleansing and Lighting for one Year from Lady
day 1772 to Lady day 1773 upon which there appears to be due to the
Collector to Ballance the Account £11..8d..9d.
Also on Oath to and setled his Account of the Rates for New
Paving for the same time upon which there also appears to be due to
the Collector to Ballance the Account £66..11s..4d
The Committee signed a Certificate for Poundage due to
Mr. John George< no role >
on £1414..19s..0d monies Collected and accounted for to this
Committee on the Rates for Repairing Cleansing and Lighting amounting
to £17..13s..9d being after the Rate of three pence in the Pound Also another
Certificate for Poundage due to him on £478..19s..6d Collected and
Accounted for to this Committee on the Rates for New Paving amounting
to £5..19s..19d being after the same Rate.
The said John George having represented to this Committee
the Extraordinary trouble by him taken in collecting the Arrears of
the former and the above Rates and in Summoning Defaulters before
Magistrates Etc Resolved that he be paid Five Guineas for the same
for which purpose this Committee signed in Certificate to the Commissioners
for Paving Westminster
