The Examination of Thos. Manning< no role > lodging in
the Parish of St. Clemt- Danes in the County of
Middx taken ye. 22d. Day of Decr. 1740 Who upon
his Oath saith that abt. 37 Years ago he was bound
an Apprentice to one Mr. Joseph Knight< no role > in Catherine
Street in the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden in the
Liberty of Westmr . & Served him as an Apprentice
for the Space of 7 Yrs. & further upon his Oath saith yt-
he hath not since yt. time rented Ten Pounds a Year pd-
parish Taxes lived with any Person as a Yearly hired
Servt. for the Space of one Yr. or otherwise gain'd a Settlemt.
in any other Place to his knowledge or beleife & that he
hath a Wife nam'd Susannah< no role > aged 64 Yrs- & he being
Poor is not able to maintaine himselfe & Wife
