Alice Birch< no role > aged about Upwards of Sixteen Years on her Oath
says that she never was married, Rented House, paid Taxes or lived a
hired Yearly Servant for one Year, says she was bound an
Apprentice by the Chapell Wardens and Overseers of the Town of
Uxbridge in the County of Middlesex to One James Colman< no role > as
Poulterer in Clare Market in the Parish of Saint Clement
Danes in the Liberty of Westminster by Indenture Dated the
8th day of August 1771 but her Master using this Examinant
Ill was obliged to part with him, and an Application to the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Parish of Saint Clement Danes
was by them Informed that the Indentures were good for nothing
and would never gain a Settlement thereby and further says that
since parting with her said Master she has never done any
other Act whereby to gain a Subsequent Settlement
