Sarah Sigrave< no role > Aged about Twenty Six
Years now lodgeing in Wych Street on her Oath Says she is the Widow of James
Sigrave
< no role > who has been dead upwards of four Years
and Three Quarters and by whom she hath no Children
living says that being a Widow and without Child or Children
she lived a hired Yearly Servant with Mrs. Smith in Arrundel
Street in the Parish of Saint Clement Danes in the County
of Middlesex upwards of Three Years at the Yearly Wages
of Eight pounds Eight Shillings hath quitted her said Service
about Ten Months ago since which time she never gained
any Subsequent Settlement And further upon her Voluntary
Oath Says that on the Twenty fourth day of Decr. last she
was delivered of a Female Bastard Child in the House of Mr.
Hutchinson in Barretts Court Henrietta Street in the
parish of Saint Mary Le Bone in the County of Middlesex
which has since been baptized by the Name of Sarah< no role >
she being poor and Unable to maintain the same And further
Says that one Luke Falkner< no role > a Footman to her late Mistress in
Arrundell Street aforesaid is the Father thereof he having had
Carnal Knowledge of her Body at this Examinant Lodgings
Two several times in Little Compton Street So he sometime in April last but the
particular days she does not now remember at one of which
times he got her with Child of the Female Bastard Child of which she
was so delivered as aforesaid And that the said Luke Falkner< no role >
and no other person did beget the same and that he is the real
and true Father thereof
