Information of Witnesses taken
this 19 augt: 1797 at the Dweling
House of Joseph Southam< no role > at the sign of the Blackamoors head
in [..] street parish of St. James Westmr. on view of
the Body of the Rt. Honble
then & there lying dead to wit
John Rush< no role > of M [..] marle Street Surgeon
being sworn, saith, he came [..] to the House of the Moses
Storey & morell in York Street yesterday morning
at [..] past 10 o'Clock being sent for in Consequence
of some Accident he was told by his sd [..]
Servt. that he believed his Master had destroyed
him. This dept. found D. Robt. Willis< no role > in the
House he came up Stairs with this Dept. & they
both went up Stairs & in the Bed Rooms of the
deced he saw the deced lying on the ground
dead, upon the examining the mouth he found
a considerable Aperture in the roof. there was a
pistol lying in the right side which had been
discharged & he found another loaded pistol
in his pocket. Willis told this Dept he came
here this morning by appointment of the decd
when he came he found the Door locked &
directed the door to be broke open when he found the
deced then lying dead immerced in blood the Dept.
[..] no doubt from all appearances but the
Ld Mount Morres shot himself
