Informations taken this Eleventh
day of April 1786 at the Parish of
St. James within the Liberty of Westmr.
in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Thomas Allen< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

Peter Cockle< no role > , a Helper in Mr. Isaac
Clements
< no role > Yard the Sign of the White
Bear in Piccadilly in the Parish of
James Westminster on his Oath saith
That on Thurday Evening last the Sixth
Instant this Dept. was in Mr. John Appleek< no role >
White Bear the Deced, William Green< no role >
James, and Richard, (whose Sir names
Dept. does not know.) being like wise
there, Says that Deced dropped asleep
by the side of the Fire, That Richard
who at of Hose called to Deced, and jogged his Elbow
in order to awake him, Saying
Your had better awake an go to Bed,
and the Deced said let me alone
and afterwards got up in a Possion
and struck Richard, but Richard
Reced the blow on his left Arm which
Dept. thinks would otherwise have
hit him upon the face, upon which
Richard with Six Right Hand Struck
the Deced under or about the left Eye and
the Deced thereupon fell backwards
and Dept. thinks that the Deceds Head
or Back went against the Jamb of
the Chimney, Says that the Deced got
up immediately and sai to Richard
I Will Serve you, Says that the Deced
bled at th Nose, but Dept. saw no Wound
upon the Deced's Head nor did the Deced
complain, Says that the Deced drove. a
Post Chaise out on Friday, to Dratford
