Informations taken this Tenth
day of April 1786 at the Parish of
St. Clement Danes within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Middlesex
Upon an Inquisition touching the Death
of John Seldon< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Henry Mullet< no role > a Shoemaker on his Oath saith
That he usually Works in a Stall before
the House of John Sawyer< no role > Victualler in
Wych Street in the Parish of St. Clement Danes
Says that last Saturday Morning the Eighth
Instant absent Seven o'Clock John Seldon< no role >
the Deced came to Dept Stall, and asked
Dept. and other People to give him a
Glass of Give upon which Dept. went with
Deced to the Sign of the Crooked Billet
and cach of them drank a Glass of Gin
and drank a Pint of Purl, and had
each of them another Glass of Gin, That
the Deced afterwards told Dept. that he
would kill him unless he would bring
fuin some Tea which Dept. did and Der [..]
drank it, That between Twelve and One
o'Clock the Deced David Read< no role > and [..]
two Others, drank two half Quarters
of Gin at Mr. Sawyer's Door, one of the
Quarters being from the Crooked Billet
Says that about two o'Clock the Deced
& Read had a Pot of Beer, of which
Deced drank, once, Says that Deced
and Read went away and returned
about five o Clock, That Mr. Towser cam [..]
by and Deced told him that unless to would
Toss up with him for a Pot of Beer he
would Leather him, upon which he
toped up and lost, Says that instead
of the Beer David Read< no role > desired to have
half a Pint of Gin, which Deced drank
