and before his Master fetched him away that he had
a fall upon a Sheet Anchor and complained of a
pain in his side, and a difficulty in Breathing.

John Cartwright Dickinson< no role > House Surgeon at the
Westmr. Hospital on his Oath saith, That on Saturday
last (March 30th) between four and Five o'Clock in the
Afternoon Deced was brought to said Hospital, said
to have reced a Hurt by falling from a Ship, That
hehadlaboured under a great difficulty of Breaching, That he
bled the Deced, and ordered every thing that he thought
necessary for his Relief, notwithstanding with the
Deced died there between Ten and Eleven o' Clock that
Night, Says that he Examined the Body and
found no Stripes or any Marks of violence there upon
Says that upon Opening the Body no disease appeared
Except a Rupture on the Fore part of each lobe of
the Lungs, particularly on the back part of the left to be
a large lace ration appeared, which Dept. believes
to be the cause of his Death.

Oath saith, That he sailed in said Ship in May last
and went to the Bay of Honduras and loaded said Ship
with Log Wood and Mahogany, and came into the Port
of London about three Weeks, ago, Says that James Lacey< no role >
the Deced Sailed with Dept. in said Ship and when he went
out appeared to be in good health, Says that the Deced
when in the Bay of Honduras was Seized with some
Disorder & was light headed, That the Deced in hisway
Voyage homewards had several Falls on Board the Ship
Says that the Cold greatly affected the Deced and almost
took away the use of his Limbs, so that he was not able
to be of any use in the Ship in the Passage home
Says that at Seilly the Deced's Body was Swelled very much
That the Deced used to Wet his Bed, and frequently
case himself in his Trowsers for which some of the
Men on Board used to beat him, Says that a day or
two after the Ship was come into the River the Deced
Went ashore and was then something better, Says
that he did not see the Deced from that time until
last Saturday Morning at Mr. Naters when he appeared
to Dept. to be afflicted with an Asthma, Coughing & Spitting
That he asked Deced what was the matter to which he
answered that he could not tell.

Sail maker on her Oath saith, That Mr. Thomas Naters< no role >
lodged with Dept. almost two Years, That James Lacey< no role >
the Deced Apprentice to Mr. Naters came home with
his Master on Tuesday Evening the 26th. day of March
last having been absent several days, Says that
Mr. Naters gave the Deced six strokes with a Cord
upon his Back the Deced having his Clothes on, and that the Deced
reced no other correction Says that the Deced [..]
at her House that Night and that on Wednesday
Evening he went on Boardtheas Ship with Captain
Baker, intending to take him a Voyage, Says that
Mr. Baker brought the Deced to his Master the next
Morning (being Thursday) Saying that he was as rotten
as a Pear, and had fouled his Bed, Says that the Deced
appeared to be ill and want up into Bed, and that
gave him Proper Nourishment that Deced's Father called there soon after
and said that he could get him into the Westmr. Hospital
and that Mr. Naters promised to send him home to waters
on Sunday or Monday, Says that the Deced continued
ill and complained of a pain in his side, upon which
she proposed to have him bled, to which he replyed [..]
it would now do no good unless it had been done at fire
that he had fallen on Board of Ship upon or against an
Anchor, Says that he had a Great difficulty in Breathing
that he Cough'd violently and Spit very much That on
Saturday Morning (March 30) Deced desired leave to
go home to his Father, upon which Deced Gansented to
let him go and him a Shilling to pay a Waterman
